Wayward is my newest project and a story that I'm so excited to share with you!  Wayward is the story of a family divided by strong political views in Colonial America.  Will they succumb to anger only to lose their family forever? Or can they manage to find a common ground on which to stand and love each other despite their stark differences?

The year is 1781.  America is divided in unrest as some Colonists are loyal to King George of England, and others are determined to enforce their Declaration of Independence under General Washington’s leadership.

In a reflection of the nation’s division, many families are also divided down enemy lines.  The Yates Family is one such family. Patriot family members defy Loyalists and the death of a son and brother cause emotions to intensify. As this family of five navigates the war and their own personal convictions, they will come to learn that the love of a family should always prevail in the battle between politics and relationships.

Although set over 200 years in America’s past, I hope that this story will resonate with viewers as it reflects the strong social and political division that separates families today.  My hope is that it's a  poignant reminder that love is always the best response.

Pre-production work continues on Wayward! I've been having many adventures with location scouting in the past week! I want this film to be as historically accurate as possible, so the perfect locations are important! No contracts have been signed yet, but communications are open and I'm so excited about the possibilities! Thank you so much for the donations that have come in and I appreciate all of the shares! If you would pay $5 for a ticket to see this film, would you consider donating that amount? Every dollar donated will go toward making this a great film and will help me and my team so much! As indie filmmakers we are used to doing a lot with very little. We will be good stewards of your investment and we thank you for believing in us! Take a look at these gorgeous locations! Will Mercy and Bennett call this home? We will see!

Will this be where Mercy and Bennett call home? We shall see!

I've been chasing waterfalls for weeks now! Mercy and Bennett have an encounter at a waterfall. In my mind the shot is epic and majestic and showcases the beauty of Virginia and finding beauty and splendor even in sad and tragic times. Recently, I found a waterfall that might just work for our cast and crew! Not too far from a parking lot...not too far to lug heavy equipment and walk in heavy dresses! What do you think? Isn't it beautiful!? And, there are some pretty interesting caves there, too!
